AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player plays as a striker in the San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. Following her graduation early from the University of California, Berkeley, where she played for the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick during the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time, was the youngest player of the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished second. She scored the match-winning goal against Canada during the 123rd minutes of the semi-final at the 2012 London Olympics. She was second in the U.S. in having 28 goals and 20 assists in 2012. This made her the sixth and youngest prolific player in the nation to score 20 goals in one year. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles in the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was named to the Dream Team for both tournaments in addition to winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
