Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American actor, singer, and model. Her most well-known work is her role in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain as well as being the singer-in-chief of Apollonia 6, a girl group. She was one of several female artists who benefited from Prince's association in the 1980s. Patricia Kotero, born 1959 in Santa Monica California began her career as an actress and model. The latter part of the 70s was when she was a guest on CHiPS. As the female protagonist of Prince's Purple Rain was her first performance in 1984. Prince changed the girl's name at this point. The actress replaced Vanity with the female duo Vanity 6 who performed in the film in the role of Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. The three scored a minor smash with Sex Shooter however it was in the role of Prince's duet partner on Take Me with You from the soundtrack that she had a greater chart impact. Kotero cut ties with Prince after an argument during the course of their careers. Apollonia 6 broke up due to their disagreement. Kotero was in a few minor films during the time, but reportedly declined to take part in The Purple Rain sequel Under the Cherry Moon. From 1985 to 1986 she got a role in the evening drama Falcon Crest. Apollonia's debut album was released in 1988. The R&B and dance tracks weren't well-received by the public who purchased music. The album soon vanished. Apollonia remained in the spotlight (if somewhat under the radar) as an actress during the decade that followed, with a few film roles on television as well as releasing an exercise video. Apollonia's album "Stay With Me" was released in 1997. Later, she returned to the school and received a degree in filmmaking, and formed her own production firm, which mainly focuses on television for children. Apollonia is a multi-talented lady. She is a former model, singer-actress as well as a talent management manager. She is best known as an actress in the role in the movie Purple Rain from 1984.
